Chiddingfold Neighbourhood Plan – Public Consultation   Friday 27 January 4pm-9pm & Saturday 28 January 10am-5pm in the Village Hall

The next stage of public consultation on the detail of our Neighbourhood Plan will take place over two days in January in the Village Hall and we hope as many of you as possible will come to give us your views on a range of issues including possible sites for new housing.
What is a Neighbourhood Plan? To remind you, these are relatively new planning documents which were introduced by the Localism Act which came into force in April 2012. They are intended to give local communities a greater say in guiding the future development and growth of an area and relate to the use and development of land and associated social, economic and environmental issues (such as housing, transport, heritage and employment).

Dad builds new locally sourced timber-framed outdoor classroom for village nursery

Situated on a farm in the beautiful Surrey countryside, Barnkids Nursery in Chiddingfold can now proudly boast a splendid roundwood timber-framed outdoor classroom

Hand-built by local carpenter and Dad, Dan Crabb of Dan Crabb Carpentry and Construction, it is constructed from local unprocessed sweet chestnut and sawn cedar timbers, all sourced from sustainable managed (FSC certified) Surrey Wildlife Trust woodlands.

"We love to get our children outside in the fresh air and enjoying nature as much as possible" says Barnkids owner Jeanette Walker, "so when we decided to develop the outside area it was really important to us that we had a covered space to provide shelter for our activities through sun and rain." - - More

English Rural Housing Association CHIDDINGFOLD INFORMATION DAY
Thursday 27 May 3.30 - 7.30Village Hall

What is the Information Day all about ? It is an opportunity for you to look at the proposed plans for a development of eight affordable homes for local people in Chiddingfold Parish.

Local councilors, have long had concerns that young people were leaving the village because of the lack of affordable housing and concerned on the impact this could have on the future sustainability of the village, commissioned a Housing Needs Survey in 2005 to obtain a clearer picture of the housing need in the village.
The 2005 survey identified 29 households, from a broad spectrum of the community, including; single people, couples and local families who were unable to access a home suitable for their needs. More recent evidence shows that the 2005 survey underestimates the need in the village. Waverley Borough Council now has over 40 applicants with a local connection to Chiddingfold waiting on their Housing Needs Register.
The Parish Council have expressed a wish to develop a local needs housing scheme for the long term benefit of the community. This proposal shows a development of eight affordable homes which would go towards assisting some of the local people in housing need. - - More

The St George's Day Play

Adedum to Story Below !
Received Thursday April 12, 2007

Having had it pointed out that Monday nights are not likely to be well attended !
It makes most sense to perform to an audience that will be present, so we've plumped for..........
performance Sunday afternoon, 2.30pm/3pm,22nd April 2007 same venue

Happily, it is getting more difficult not to notice the significance of 23rd April!

There are parades and festivities around the county to mark our patron saint’s day and to celebrate our nationality and Englishness. (We seem to be catching up with the Scots, Irish and Welsh in this respect!)

Again, The Crown P.H. will host the company. Monday evening visitors will, I hope, be quite pleased to witness the show! If all goes well, the performance will be at around 9pm, a tune or two after this brief theatre, to further entertain, and a pleasant evening will be had by all!
