For some years the Joint Churches, with the help of the Good Neighbours and funding from the Community Fund, have welcomed newcomers to the village with an annual Welcome Lunch.
This year the baton passed to the Good Neighbours’ Scheme and we decided to switch from a lunch to an Afternoon Tea Party.
Over 100 invitations went out and we welcomed over 60 adults and children who enjoyed a splendid homemade spread, provided by a wonderful group of volunteers.
Many village groups and societies were represented so that everyone had a chance to find out about everything Chiddingfold has to offer.
The new format certainly seems to have been a resounding success, with new friendships forged and volunteers and recruits signed up. Thank you to everyone who made this possible and we look forward to doing it all again next year!
