Chiddingfold Club
Sad news Im afraid. Sometime in 2008 the Chiddingfold Club is to close
and be demolished to make way for housing on the site, plus a much smaller club.
Because of the proximity of the proposed housing and the decreased space in
the new club it wont be possible to put on live bands.
This situation has been forced on us because of the dwindling number of people coming into the club on a day to day basis, which consequently has meant that the club finances have gone seriously into the red.
I have been promoting bands at the club for well over 10 years and it has been a privilege to have been able to put on bands and performers     - such as
Albert Lee The Hamsters Wishbone Ash Hugh Cornwall Jim Capaldi Caravan Jones |
James Taylor Quartet John Otway Big Town Playboys Yardbirds The Animals James Hunter |
Ainsley Lister Cliff Bennett 9 Below Zero Mike Sanchez King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys Eugene Hideaway Bridges |
  and many others.
I have thoroughly enjoyed promoting bands at the Chiddingfold Club and have been overwhelmed by the tremendous support I have received. Many of you reading this will have been coming to my gigs from the very beginning, often on cold, wet, windy nights where the lure of a warm house and the telly might have dissuaded you from coming out. for this I am truly grateful.
The three gigs I am putting on before the club closes are
The Hamsterswith a Jimi Hendrix / ZZ Top Special on Friday
January 25th     ( Gone )
Number 1 Queen tribute     Killer Queen Friday March 7 th     ( Gone )
and finally the amazing Albert Lee and Hogans Heroes Friday April 18th
    ( Postponed ) Details
These gigs will be a celebration of all the fantastic music thathas been heard
at the Chiddingfold Club over the years,
so please come along, enjoy the music and of course as many of you do come and
have a chat with me
I will be putting on the occasional gig at the Woolmer Hill Technology
College in the future
as life without being involved in live music would be unthinkable
