Hi

Hope you are well. Thank you to all who have signed up to this e-newsletter recently and/or came to last Friday's show by the excellent Santana tribute band, Oye Santana.
A busy October sees five shows at St. John's Church in Farncombe:

Wednesday 4th - LAURA CORTESE & THE DANCE CARDS - £14 adv / £17 door

All female 4-piece band making a welcome return after their sold out show at Hector's on The Wey in May. Sophisticated string arrangements and rich vocal harmonies paired with band leader Laura Cortese's poignant and powerful singing. This is an all-acoustic show in the Church Room with no PA or backline amplification.

Friday 6th - PAPILLON (ANNA PHOEBE & NICOLAS RIZZI) + special guests, REED MAXFIELD - £14 adv / £17 door

Two wonderful acoustic duos on one bill. Papillon is the violin guitar duo of Anna Phoebe and Nicolas Rizzi whose music is influenced by Eastern melodies set within cinematic landscapes. Reed Maxfield are the ever popular Godalming based singer-songwriting duo of Philippa Reed and Chris Maxfield.

Friday 13th - CLIVE GREGSON & LIZ SIMCOCK - £14 adv / £17 door

Gregson & Simcock formed as a duo in 2015 and following a number of tours have just released their debut album, Underwater Dancing. Both Clive and Liz have performed separately at St. John's Church in the past so we are looking forward to their first duo show here.

Friday 20th - SLIM CHANCE - £16 adv / £19 door

With three original members of the late great Ronnie Lane's old band - Steve Bingham, Charlie Hart and Steve Simpson - they are now regularly joined by Brendan O'Neill, Billy Nicholls and Geraint Watkins, and together they deliver a unique and entertaining show, both joyous and of a high musical calibre featuring Ronnie Lane's old songs as well as new material.

Saturday 28th - SIMPLY DAN (STEELY DAN TRIBUTE) + special guests, ESZTER MICS & THE SISTERS - £14 adv / £17 door

A fabulous 11 piece band paying tribute to Steely Dan whose wonderful music I have been a fan of since the early 1970s is now receiving more deserved notice following the recent passing of Steely Dan's Walter Becker.

For those closer to Worcester I am also co-promoting a show by DIRE STRAITS UK at Huntingdon Hall on Saturday 28th (btw the band will also be at Haslemere Hall on 24th February 2018 - tickets already on sale).

Looking ahead to November with three shows in Farncombe which are all selling fast and my first ever co-promotion over in Weybridge.

For full details / links on these shows as well as many others already on sale for 1st half 2018, please see my website and/or the respective Facebook pages where you can catch all the latest news about the shows.
Look forward to seeing you again soon - please continue to support live music.
All the best
Julian

Hope you are well. Before heading into the upcoming events, just to mention that I have received very positive feedback about the Farncombe Music Club concerts from the most recent meeting of the Farncombe PCC. However there was one request that audience members do not take any food or drinks of any kind into the Church itself during the concerts. This request to include food and other drinks shouldn't inconvenience most of our audience members who either drink alcohol (which isn't allowed to be consumed in the Church in any case) or other drinks or eat food in the Church Room either before the show or during what is a generous 30 minute interval. New notices will be on display at the FMC concerts.
