Hello
Firstly thank you to all who attended my two recent concert promotions in Farncombe.
Unfortunately Jo Harman's full band show had to be postponed due to the weather conditions but we have re-scheduled it for Friday 29th June - existing tickets still remain valid and tickets for the new date are now on sale for those who were unable to make the original date.
All of the upcoming shows are at ST. JOHN'S CHURCH in FARNCOMBE unless specified otherwise:

SATURDAY 7th APRIL - YES PLEASE (YES TRIBUTE) - £14 adv / £17 door

Yes Please are a top Yes tribute band dedicated to faithfully reproducing the intricate, impassioned and inspirational music to Yes - my favourite British band and of one of the world's greatest classic, progressive rock bands who are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2018. Yes Please re-live the classic music of Yes with original sounds, full harmonies and an earthy, aggressive feel.

SATURDAY 14th APRIL - THE KT BUSH BAND @ ST. JAMES' CHURCH WEYBRIDGE - £16 adv / £19 door

The KT Bush Band were formed in 1977 with original members - guitarist Brian Bath and drummer Vic King. Their set consisted of classic soul and rock covers, Brian’s original songs, and many of Kate’s songs before they were released. The band quickly gained a loyal, venue-filling following performing songs like “James and the Cold Gun”, “Them Heavy People” and “Oh To Be in Love” long before they were released by Kate on The Kick Inside. Fast forward to 2018, Vic and Brian have taken The KT Bush Band back on the road: performing the music of Kate Bush, along with fascinating insights and anecdotes from the early days, and with some original KT Bush Band songs not heard since 1977! 2018 sees the first shows by Sallie-Anne Hurst as Kate along with newcomers Emily Francis on keyboards and Steve Bevan on bass.

SATURDAY 21st APRIL - HAZEL O'CONNOR & CORMAC DE BARRA - £20 adv / £24 door SELLING FAST

A very special evening with award-winning singer-songwriter Hazel O’Connor, performing here in a captivating acoustic line-up with Cormac de Barra on Irish Harp, her musical partner for some 15 years. The combination of de Barra’s harp with Hazel’s unforgettable voice is truly magical, melding Hazel's heartfelt lyrics with the musicianship of Cormac in a stirring musical marriage. Together they will reach into the very depths of your soul.

WEDNESDAY 25th APRIL - SARAH McQUAID - £12 adv / £15 door

“The precision and sophistication of the writing and playing blows me away. I am so glad to be involved,” writes guitar legend Michael Chapman in his introduction to the Madrid-born, Chicago-raised, Cornwall-based singer/songwriter Sarah McQuaid’s fifth solo album If We Dig Any Deeper It Could Get Dangerous. Recently honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Ards International Guitar Festival in Northern Ireland, Sarah’s also drawn critical praise for her voice (which has been variously likened to malt whiskey and melted chocolate) and her engaging rapport with audiences. With the release of her new album, has expanded her battery of instruments to include piano, electric guitar and drum, and it’s drawn critical raves internationally.

SATURDAY 28th APRIL - MARRAKESH EXPRESS (CROSBY, STILLS, NASH & YOUNG TRIBUTE) - £14 adv / £17 door

A live performance by Marrakesh Express of music from Crosby Stills Nash & Young: remarkable music from a remarkable time. Three great voices deliver a note perfect performance of some of the finest harmony singing in all music. Telling the story of the formation of this super-group and including songs from The Hollies, The Byrds and Buffalo Springfield, the band take the audience back to a time of protest, revolution, dropping out, and making great music. This is the only show of its kind, and a truly brilliant night's entertainment

.

FRIDAY 11th MAY - CHRIS DIFFORD (SOLO SHOW) WITH ARCELIA - £16 adv / £19 door SELLING FAST

As Squeeze co-founder and song-writer, Chris Difford has made a lasting contribution to English music with hits such as ‘Cool For Cats’, ‘Up The Junction’, Pulling Mussels', ‘Tempted’. Chris's popular solo show includes conversation and Q&A with the audience. A relaxing look back at what happened along the way, playing all the Squeeze hits and more. Chris is joined on his solo shows by the wonderful soulful folk harmony trio, Arcelia. SELLING FAST

FRIDAY 18th MAY - JOHN VERITY BAND - £12 adv / £15 door

John Verity is a guitarist formerly with the band Argent from 1974 to 1976. When Argent split up, John played in several other bands as well as producing the first Saxon album. John continues to gig continuously throughout the UK and overseas with the John Verity Band releasing his 20th studio album, Blue to my Soul in November 2017 which has received much critical acclaim.

Hope you are well. Before heading into the upcoming events, just to mention that I have received very positive feedback about the Farncombe Music Club concerts from the most recent meeting of the Farncombe PCC. However there was one request that audience members do not take any food or drinks of any kind into the Church itself during the concerts. This request to include food and other drinks shouldn't inconvenience most of our audience members who either drink alcohol (which isn't allowed to be consumed in the Church in any case) or other drinks or eat food in the Church Room either before the show or during what is a generous 30 minute interval. New notices will be on display at the FMC concerts.
