5th Birthday Celebrations with: The Bully Wee Band

Who better to celebrate our 5th birthday with, than our old favourites The Bully Wee Band? We are delighted to welcome back this wonderful Folk/Rock band again. In January 2012, the Bully Wees took Grayshott Village Hall by storm and two years later played to a full house at Grayshott Social Club. As they only ever tour in January these days, we have had to wait very patiently for their return and for them to play for us again. We know that the Bully Wees put on a great show, guaranteed to put a smile on everyone’s face. Not only are they great musicians but they are also engaging entertainers. Since their reformation in 2004, they have proved themselves to be among Britain’s foremost exponents of acoustic Folk/Rock music.
Originally formed in the early 70s by brothers Jim and John Yardley, the Bully Wee Band successfully toured Britain, Europe and America through several line-ups until the last one of Ian Cutler, Fergus Feely, Colin Reece and Maartin Allcock, finally called it a day in 1983.
20 years later a chance meeting between Messrs Cutler, Feely and Reece resulted in a very spirited jam session at Faversham Folk Club in Kent, and a subsequent decision to put a three piece Bully Wee Band back on the road in January 2004, “if only for the craic.”
So successful was the 2004 tour that Colin (Guitar, Octave Mandolin, Vocals), Ian (Violin, Keyboard, Vocals) and Fergus (Mandocello, Vocals), decided to repeat the experience in January 2005; only this time with the addition of Bully Wee founder-member Jim Yardley (Mandolin, Whistles, Vocals). Thus the current line up was reunited and complete.
They have toured every January since and are always in great demand. We warmly welcome back the one, the only, The Bully Wee Band…………………
