Many pensioners live on fixed incomes and Citizens Advice encounter many who are finding it increasingly difficult to make ends meet. Their advisors are currently urging people to check that they are receiving all the benefits they are entitled to. For those over pension age particularly, these include Pension Credit and Council Tax Benefit - even Housing Benefit for those who rent their home. Attendance Allowance is available for those aged 65 or over who need care, and Carers Allowance can be paid to younger people who provide that care. Citizens Advice Waverleys mobile unit comes to Chiddingfold every Wednesday morning and parks at the Chiddingfold Club between 10am and noon. They also have offices in Godalming, Farnham, Cranleigh and Haslemere. Their advisors can be contacted on our advice line, 0844-8487969 on weekdays between 10 and 4 (until 6.30 pm Tues-Thu). If you are a pensioner, or you are close to someone who is, why not check your entitlement?
